Dallas Nutritional Counseling is seeking a qualified physician’s assistant and/or Nurse practitioner

Dallas Nutritional Counseling is a concierge private practice based in Dallas, Texas, owned and operated by Casey Bonano RD, LD, CEDS-C. Dallas Nutritional Counseling treats a variety of nutritional concerns, yet primarily focuses on the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, chronic dieting, and body image. Any person applying must practice within a weight neutral, body positive, and Intuitive Eating lens.

We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner and/or a Physician's Assistant to join our expanding practice. This is an independent contractor position, allowing for part-time start, flexible hours, and with the expectation that the position build up to a full-time caseload. Schedule and hours will be determined based on office availability and preference. The clinician will be expected to see clients in person as well as through Telehealth.

The ideal candidates is fully licensed in their specific field and has at least 1-2 years of specific eating disorder experience. 

Dallas Nutritional Counseling Physician’s Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychiatric, physical, and psychosocial assessments to evaluate patient health status.
    Diagnose eating disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

  • Assess and track physical symptoms related to eating disorders, including monitoring lab results, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and vital signs.

  • Evaluate, manage, and mitigate risks related to severe weight loss, purging behaviors, and suicidal ideation.

  • Formulate, document, and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.

  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications for psychiatric co-morbidities (e.g., SSRIs, antipsychotics) and monitor their effectiveness and side effects.

  • Communicate regularly with clients’ other treatment team members

  • Manage client caseload: coordinate initial consultation calls, schedule clients, maintain detailed records,
    collect and document payments, and provide invoices to clients as needed.

  • Refer client to appropriate providers/resources when indicated
    Maintain and model professional boundaries

  • Demonstrate flexible, balanced eating behaviors and a peaceful relationship with one’s own food intake, relationship with exercise and body image.

Dallas Nutritional Counseling Physician’s Assistant/Nurse Practitioner requirments:

• PA-C, FNP, or PMHNP 
• Professional liability insurance
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues
• A willingness to receive and integrate feedback
