Our Story
Feed Yourself & Your Family is the general nutrition and family feeding division of Dallas Nutritional Counseling, a Dallas-based private practice founded by Casey Bonano, RD, LD, CEDS-C.
For more than a decade, Casey built Dallas Nutritional Counseling with a focus on helping individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and chronic dieting. After having two children of her own, she began to see another need: practical nutrition education and family feeding support that wasn't rooted in dieting, fear, or the pressure to feed yourself or your family “perfectly.”
Feed Yourself & Your Family was created in 2024 to help fill that gap.
With more than 16 years of experience in dietetics, Casey has seen that access to nutrition information usually isn't the problem. People are surrounded by information about what they “should” eat. The harder part is figuring out how to apply that information within the realities of everyday life.
As a working parent herself, Casey understands those realities personally, too. She loves to cook, but feeding a growing family while balancing work, schedules, preferences, time, and everything else that comes with family life has brought its own challenges.
That experience helped shape the philosophy behind Feed Yourself & Your Family: nutrition recommendations should fit into your life, not require your life to revolve around nutrition.
Our approach combines evidence-based nutrition with realistic application, taking into account each individual or family's culture, lifestyle, preferences, needs, and values. We want to help people feel more confident feeding themselves and their families without making food another source of stress or anxiety.
As Feed Yourself & Your Family has grown, so has the way we support families. Our team now extends beyond nutrition counseling to include personal chef services and body-positive personal training, allowing us to support nutrition, feeding, movement, and everyday wellness in practical and individualized ways.
At the heart of everything we offer is a simple goal: to make caring for yourself and feeding your family feel a little less complicated.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you work with?
We work with individuals and families across the lifespan, from infants beginning solids to children, teens, and adults navigating their own nutrition needs. The type of support we provide depends on the age of the individual, the nutrition or feeding concern, and the needs of the family.
Can you help with picky eating?
Yes. We work with families navigating picky eating, limited food variety, mealtime challenges, and concerns about whether a child is getting the nutrition they need.
Rather than focusing on forcing, bribing, or pressuring children to eat certain foods, we help families understand what may be contributing to feeding challenges and develop realistic strategies that support both nutrition and a healthy relationship with food.
For children with more significant feeding concerns, we can also help determine whether additional evaluation or support from another provider may be appropriate.
Do you help with starting solids and infant feeding?
Yes. We can help parents navigate starting solids, introducing new foods and textures, allergen introduction, feeding progression, and common questions that come up as babies transition into eating family foods.
Our goal isn't to give you another set of feeding rules to follow perfectly. We want to help you feel informed and confident making feeding decisions that work for your baby and your family.
What if I need help with my own nutrition, not my child's?
Absolutely. Feed Yourself & Your Family isn't only about feeding children. We also work with adults who want individualized support with their own nutrition, including meal planning, eating consistently, food allergies and intolerances, sports nutrition, vegetarian and vegan nutrition, women's nutrition concerns, and other general nutrition needs.
Depending on the type and level of support you're looking for, Individual Nutrition Support, ongoing Nutrition Counseling, or the Feed Yourself & Your Family Membership may be the best fit.
What's the difference between Individual Nutrition Support and the Feed Yourself & Your Family Membership?
Individual Nutrition Support gives you personalized time with a registered dietitian to address your specific nutrition questions, concerns, and goals.
The Feed Yourself & Your Family Membership provides ongoing resources designed to make everyday feeding easier, including realistic family meal plans, grocery lists, nutrition resources, mini courses, and access to our team of dietitians.
If you have an individual concern that requires personalized assessment and recommendations, working directly with a dietitian is likely the better place to start. If you're primarily looking for ongoing ideas, education, and practical support for everyday feeding, the Membership may be a good fit.
I'm not sure which service I need. Where should I start?
You don't have to figure that out on your own.
Tell us a little about what you're looking for, who you're seeking support for, and what's been challenging. We can help you determine whether Individual Nutrition Support, ongoing Nutrition Counseling, the Feed Yourself & Your Family Membership, Personal Training, Chef Services, or another service is the best place to start.
