We're Hiring - Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Pediatric Occupational Therapist – Feeding & ARFID

Dallas Nutritional Counseling | Dallas, TX
Part-Time, Part-Time-to-Full-Time, or Practice Growth Opportunity

Dallas Nutritional Counseling is looking for an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist with expertise in feeding challenges and ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) to join our growing multidisciplinary private practice.

We specialize in eating disorders, disordered eating, intuitive eating, and family feeding concerns, using a weight-inclusive and trauma-informed approach. We are looking to expand our pediatric feeding services by bringing an OT onto our team who shares our philosophy and is excited about collaborating closely with dietitians and other providers.

Who We're Looking For

We are especially interested in connecting with an Occupational Therapist who is well versed in ARFID, pediatric feeding disorders, sensory-based feeding challenges, and feeding therapy.

This opportunity could be a great fit for:

  • An OT with a small established private practice who would like to grow their caseload and benefit from referrals, collaboration, and the infrastructure of an established practice.

  • An entrepreneurial OT who wants to start part-time and gradually build a full-time caseload within Dallas Nutritional Counseling.

  • An OT who simply wants a part-time position and enjoys pediatric feeding work without the goal of moving into full-time hours.

We are open to discussing the structure that makes the most sense for the right clinician.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has experience working with children and families experiencing:

  • ARFID

  • Pediatric feeding disorders and feeding difficulties

  • Sensory sensitivities related to food and eating

  • Limited food variety and highly selective eating

  • Oral-motor and developmental feeding concerns

  • Mealtime anxiety, avoidance, and distress

  • Neurodivergence and its intersection with feeding

  • Complex feeding concerns that benefit from multidisciplinary treatment

Candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively with dietitians, therapists, physicians, and other members of a child's treatment team.

We are particularly interested in clinicians who understand the importance of providing feeding therapy that is compassionate, individualized, trauma-informed, and supportive of the child's and family's relationship with food.

What We're Hoping to Build

Our goal is to create a stronger multidisciplinary home for children and families struggling with feeding concerns and ARFID. We already work with families experiencing feeding challenges and would love to partner with an OT who wants to help us expand these services.

Depending on your experience and goals, there may be an opportunity to develop and grow the occupational therapy/feeding component of our practice, while benefiting from collaboration and referrals within an established nutrition and eating-disorder practice.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

  • Be a licensed Occupational Therapist in Texas, or eligible for Texas licensure

  • Have pediatric occupational therapy experience

  • Have specific training and/or significant clinical experience with ARFID and feeding issues

  • Be comfortable collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Have excellent communication skills with both families and referring professionals

  • Value a compassionate, client-centered approach to feeding treatment

Private practice experience is a plus but is not required.

Schedule & Growth

We are intentionally flexible. This could be:

Part-time: Maintain a smaller caseload that fits your schedule.

Part-time with room to grow: Begin with a limited number of clients and build toward full-time hours as your caseload develops.

Established-practice partnership: If you already have a small pediatric OT or feeding practice and are looking for an opportunity to grow, we'd love to discuss how joining Dallas Nutritional Counseling could support that growth.

We are more interested in finding the right clinician and long-term fit than requiring one specific schedule.
