Eating Disorder Recovery Meal & Snack Checklist

Are you intentional with your eating in recovery?

We don’t want to be preoccupied by food, but there is a level of importance on paying attention to what is and is not on your plate.

This quick meal and snack check list includes a couple quick questions you can ask yourself when planning, plating, or ordering your meal.

Recovery Meal & Snack Checklist

  • Does my meal have carbohydrates, dietary fat, and protein? (only counting one type of food for each macronutrient)

  • Does my meal have something that provides volume and fiber?

  • Does my meal have something that provides satisfaction?

  • Will this quantity of food sustain me for at least 3-4 hours?

  • Does this meal have a beverage for hydration?

  • Are you selecting foods out of fear or preference?

  • Did you choose foods based solely on nutritional content (calories, carbs, etc.) or because it sounded good?
