Food is fuel for our body – it is not meant to make you feel shame or guilt. Casey believes that food should enable her clients to experience their life to the fullest.
Casey Voorhies Bonano RD, LD, CEDRD is a Texas Christian University graduate with a BS in Coordinated Dietetics. Her experience in various fields includes clinical, foodservice management, nutrition education, long-term care, diabetes, community, residential/PHP/IOP eating disorder treatment, and private practice. Ultimately, Casey knew her passion was working with individuals in an outpatient setting and established her own private practice. Casey truly loves getting to know her patients and customizing her recommendations to fit an individual’s lifestyle.
Nutrition counseling utilizes an empathetic, Intuitive Eating and non-dieting approach to achieve long-term behavioral change. Casey's goal is to provide her clients with the tools necessary to obtain healthy and balanced lifestyle. By enabling her clients to make peace with food they are able to feel more in control of their eating habits.
Casey's experience at The Renfrew Center of Texas, Project Bliss, Nutrition Paradox and her own private practice has provided extensive experience working with clients that struggle with a variety of weight and eating issues. She has specific experience with anorexia, bulimia and over eating/binge eating. Casey's passion and expertise in the Eating Disorder field has led her to complete all requirements to receive the CEDRD (Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian) title through the IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals). The CEDRD requirements include evaluation of education, training, knowledge and experience. Registered Dietitians with this certification are experienced nutrition therapists who have met rigorous educational and skill requirements, have accumulated a minimum number of hours of qualifying work experience, have made a commitment to stay abreast of current developments in the field and have made a commitment to stay abreast of current developments in the field.
Casey provides individual, group, and family nutrition counseling in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. In addition Casey provides nutritional counseling via video conferencing when location/distance is a concern. Casey is a member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, Texas Dietetic Association, Dallas Dietetic Association, International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians, and International Academy of Eating Disorder Professionals. As the Membership Chair of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and the New Member Ambassador of the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitian, Casey continues to stay heavily involved in the dietitian and eating disorder community.
Casey has been invited to speak/present to many well known and respected businesses in the community including KTXA Channel 21 News, Texas Christian University, The Elisa Project, The Renfrew Center of Texas, UT Southwestern, Mesa Springs Behavioral Health, Topflight Gymnastics Training Center, Arlington Independent School District, Fort Worth Independent School District, and University of Texas at Arlington. Casey lives in the Dallas area and enjoys exploring the city with her husband and two pet German Shepherds, Oskie & Lady. She enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, reading, and traveling. In her spare time you can find her hanging out with family and friends.
